Estate agents 'will see the housing market grow in 2010'

The UK property sector will experience modest growth this year,
according to a property investment adviser.
Chief executive officer of Assetz Stuart Law explained that buyers
have been taking advantage of the current market conditions.
"We do expect the market to continue steadily forward this year
with a modest five per cent growth," Mr Law stated.
He pointed out that mortgage deals are continually becoming more
competitive, with loan-to-values gradually getting higher and
higher, which is encouraging buyers back to the market.
Mr Law added that, although there are still a number of risks
within the sector overall, the industry seems to be coping with any
problems that are thrown up.
Data released on February 10th by unbiased.co.uk revealed that more
than 70,000 people requested guidance about home financing options
from a mortgage adviser during 2009.
The biggest group were first-time buyers, comprising 40 per cent of
enquiries throughout the period, while remortgaging advice was the
second most popular enquiry.
