Property investors 'positive about the state of the market'

Property investors are approaching the UK housing market with
renewed optimism, it has been claimed.
Michael Morris, managing director at ING Real Estate Income,
predicted that the upturn in the sector, which was experienced in
the final quarter of 2009, will continue during 2010 but at a
slower rate.
"Whilst I think a positive trend is likely to continue, pricing
movements are likely to be far more subdued in 2010, with stronger
occupational demand needed to keep this pricing momentum," he
stated.
Mr Morris' comments come as part of a survey of property investment
experts carried out by the Association of Investment
Companies.
Marcus Phayre-Mudge, manager at TR Property Investment Trust,
agreed with Mr Morris and said that he expects demand within the
sector to increase throughout the year.
According to the latest Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors'
housing market survey, which was released on February 9th, house
prices rose during the first month of this year.
