UCATT: Construction sector on the road to recovery

The number of positive indications that the construction sector is
on the road to recovery are on the increase, according to one
industry organisation.
It was revealed by the Union of Construction, Allied Trades and
Technicians (UCATT), that although there is a lower level of work
available for builders, the market has bottomed out.
The organisation believes this means a quick recovery will be
experienced, which may see the number of new house builds go
up.
A spokesperson for UCATT was optimistic, although did have a word
of caution, saying that although there is "all that work"
available, there are still "fairly long lead-in times and we
haven't seen the full value of that yet".
One house building firm that is supporting these comments is Taylor
Wimpey, which reported a 73 per cent increase in the number of
orders at the end of June.
