"We raised over £4,600. All support was greatly appreciated, as we were able to focus on entertaining our guests whilst raising vital funds. £1,400 was made on the raffle and Heads & Tails game. Your valuable contribution enabled us to raise a significant amount of funds to help us to continue to fund research into childhood cancer. We also raised £411 on our Giving tree, to spend on Christmas gifts for children who will spend this Christmas under the care of Rainbow Ward, West Suffolk Hospital, the Oncology and haematology ward (C2), Addenbrookes, The East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice, Milton, and the Children’s Community Specialist Nursing service, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Alongside this we have been donated over £1,000 worth of toys from Caps Cases in Newmarket and the Liam Fairhurst Foundation.
Once again, thank you! And Merry Christmas
Yours sincerely,
Sharon Williams, on behalf of Just George"
‘Just George’ is a special named fund, set up in the memory of an incredible little boy – George – who will forever be 4. At the age of 3, he was diagnosed with high-risk Rhabdomyosarcoma (soft tissue tumour). You can read his story here: Just George
Cancer is the biggest killer by disease in the UK for children and young people. Over 4000 children and young people under 25 are diagnosed with cancer every year. These children need kinder and more effective treatments today. Research is the answer.
All funds raised by Just George are ringfenced for vital research into Rhabdomyosarcoma, through the Children’s Cancer and Leukemia Group (CCLG). CCLG is the only organisation which brings together all professionals working within childhood cancer. They fund top class research and provide support and information for families. Ultimately any research Just George funds will benefit all children and their families who have been impacted by this horrible disease, by improving understanding, diagnosis and treatment.
