Hockwold is a small village with a thriving community, including a Womens’ Institute and Friendship Club. The village is the location of the primary campus of Iceni Academy. Previously this was Hockwold Primary School. The two pubs, the Red Lion and the New Inn, are popular spots for the village locals. The village has an annual fair, which over the past few years has proven to be a great success and has raised a lot of money for the village. The village also has two churches and a Methodist chapel. Hockwold Common is located to the south of the village and provides a quiet outside space leading down to the Little Ouse River. The village is conveniently located between Feltwell and Lakenheath.
Hockwold is 10 miles west of Thetford, Norfolk, England and is in the borough of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. It is located near several USAF airbases, notably RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall. It is situated on the boundary between the geographical areas of the Breckland – a region of sandy heathland now largely forested – and the flat, low-lying Fens, with some characteristics of both.
